On 2 October, a community centre in Veliky Novgorod hosted a meeting for older residents as part of the Russian Patients Union “Responsible Patient” project.

Lyubov Pavlova, chair of the Novgorod RuMSS branch, led an interactive activity exploring the patient-support ecosystem. The model places the patient at its centre and connects families, friends, medical professionals, patient organisations, insurers, disability-assessment services and social services.

Participants examined where to seek information and support, how to communicate with organisations and how to ask for help. Feedback showed that some residents discovered resources they had not previously known about.

The activity was developed by the Russian Patients Union with support from the Presidential Grants Foundation. Further sessions are planned for other community groups.
