At the annual RuMSS conference on 30 May 2023, Vice-President Igor Tsikorin described concerns raised by regional patient organisations about access to medicines and innovative therapies.

The report discussed delays in prescribing and supplying disease-modifying treatments, insufficient quantities, difficulties with regional procurement and problems with deferred prescriptions. It also raised concerns about access to clinical trials and new medicines.

RuMSS's monitoring found considerable differences between regions in the use of three-month prescriptions and electronic prescriptions. Patients also reported delays when changing medicines and difficulties obtaining some symptomatic treatments.

The article presents concerns and monitoring findings reported in 2023, rather than a description of current availability. The original publication cites the medical news outlet Medvestnik.
