In a greeting to the 2023 national online MS conference, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko reported an increase in the number of people diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

According to the figures quoted in the report, 6,800 people received an MS diagnosis in 2022, 18% more than in 2020. The number of patients under follow-up had increased by 6.5% compared with 2020.

The minister's message highlighted effective diagnosis, qualified neurological care and patient awareness as important elements of disease management.
