The All-Russian Patients Union was established at the end of 2009 by patient organizations, among which were the ARMSS, the League for protecting patients, the Haemophilia Society and other active Russian patient organizations.
The All-Russian Patients Union (ARPU - www.patients.ru) works to consolidate the patient community and their position, make legal tools to protect patients and ensure these tools are accessible across the Russian Federation.
On May 28 2010, the Union held the Fist All-Russian Patients Congress. Organizations of patients and disabled people, government authorities, science establishments, medical associations, pharmaceutical and insurance companies – in all about 100 agencies – worked at the Congress, where ‘The Declaration about patients’ rights in Russia’ was voted for unanimously and passed.
