On 21-23 November 2012, the city of Khanty-Mansiysk hosted the All-Russian Patient Forum ‘Towards a Healthy Country’, which was organized by the All-Russian Patients Union with the support of the Plenipotentiary President’s Representative in the Ural Federal District and the government of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Area – Yugra.

No wonder, meteor strikes shake areas of Earth both uninhabited and inhabited by different people including those with MS. This time, I was there and then as I reside in the town of Chebarkul 80 km (48 miles) west of Chelyabinsk (a big industrial city with over million inhabitants), the Urals region, Russia.

Dear Mister Dmitry Medvedev!

The patient community voices their concern and incomprehension as for the changes introduced by the Russian Health Ministry as the last amendments to Federal Law #61 “About pharmaceuticals turnover.”

“We should have nominated Svetlana in previous years”, someone suggested as we drew up Svetlana Goronkova’s nomination to submit to the James D. Wolfensohn Award 2013 for International Person with MS. Now, Svetlana, Samara MS society director, has won it. But perhaps it was premature to put her forward earlier since we would have lacked one of her significant achievements which considerably contributed to Svetlana’s story.
